Santa Clara Gardens and Heritage House Senior Housing is an integral part of redevelopment of the BAREC (Bay Area Research and Extension Center ) site in the City of Santa Clara. This development is a collaborative effort between Charities Housing and the Santa Clara Methodist Retirement Foundation. The proposed use of the entire 17-acre BAREC site includes a blend of market rate single-family housing, high-density affordable senior rental housing and a one-acre public park. The affordable senior housing development located on 6 acres, is comprised of approximately 165 units in two buildings that are three and four stories. Included within each building will be space for community activities and the delivery of services. Nestled between to the two buildings will be a substantial garden/landscaped area for use by the seniors. The site, which is located on Winchester Boulevard in Santa Clara, is conveniently located near a range of retail and commercial services.
